Project summary:

The system permits users to compose portfolios composed of up to 50 securities. For each portfolio, the relative proportions can be varied and the effect on the optimality of the portfolio can be seen in real time (less than 1 sec). In addition, a user can specify a risk profile (or the system can create a profile) and the system automatically recommends an optimal portfolio. If a specific part of a portfolio is no performing well, the system can recommend an optimal replacement while maintaining the user's risk profile. Using such a system enables individual investors clearly understand the nature of their investments and make optimal choices for their portfolio that match their financial objectives.
The parameters of the optimization and the model can be specified by the user or by an institution for its clients. Institutions such as banks can easily incorporate their risk models into the same intuitive graphical interface.
